Changes to the skilled occupation lists came into effect on 11 March 2019. These lists specify the occupations which can be nominated for skilled visa applications.
Medium and Long‑term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
Occupations on this list can be nominated for all skilled visa applications.
36 occupations have been added to this list.
Regional Occupation List (ROL)
Occupations on this list can be nominated for the Skilled Regional provisional visa (subclass 489) and the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme permanent visa (subclass 187).
18 occupations have been added to this list.
Short‑term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)
Occupations on this list can be nominated for the Temporary Skills Shortage visa (subclass 482) in the short-term stream.
27 occupations have been removed from this list.
Note that this will affect new applications for TSS visas in the short-term stream only.
It will not affect:
- Applications which have been lodged and are awaiting a decision
- Visas already granted
